Distance education is growing in recognition and esteem. Students in an online MBA benefit from a highly interactive setting that promotes leadership, teaming, and communication skills. Finding the right online MBA, however, is sometimes difficult. What should you look for in an online MBA?
Is the school accredited professionally? Many online MBAs are accredited, but only top business schools meet the rigorous requirements of The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Are GMAT waivers available? The GMAT is a requirement of the majority of online MBA programs. The WebMBA does consider waivers under certain conditions. Contact our Executive Director for more information.
Can the school provide online pre-requisite courses? Look for programs that offer self-paced modules to meet program requirements for business foundation courses. The WebMBA does offer that service. Many schools require that students take “foundational” courses that are part of the core curriculum, but charge graduate-level tuition for those courses. Students attending such schools may need to take as many as 45 credit hours, including electives, to graduate.
Is the program accelerated? Our program takes less than two years to complete. It consists of 30 credit hours.
Will a professor answer specific questions about course-work? Some schools rely on assistants to respond to students. WebMBA faculty will guide you through assigned readings, discussion posts, and exams. We hold faculty to strict quality standards and require that only faculty with AACSB academic qualifications teach in the program.
Is there an academic support network? Students working full-time find team-based and cohort-based courses help them learn from each other while providing a support network. All services, including an online library and databases, are available to our students, who have close contact with the program Executive Director.
What are the financial aid options? MBA directors will advise you on financial aid options. Many students receive corporate tuition reimbursement. Tuition Assitance is available for University System employees. GI Bill support is also offered at some schools.
What is the best school for you? The Executive Director will work closely with you to match your goals and credentials to the right school. Each WebMBA school admits its own students based on its individual admissions requirements. Applicants can use the convenient online admissions sites for our universities.
Does the program focus on practical application? Courses emphasize real-world application, including how concepts and skills can benefit your company or be applied to the business community.
Is travel required for courses or exams? Our exclusive online courses require no residencies or travel for exams. All course-work is online. Only a single 2-day on-site orientation is required at the start of the program.
